Marine Placement Assistant

You will serve as a Marine Placement Assistant in the CSU-E (N12C1), of the CIVMAR SUPPORT GROUP (N12C), in the CIVMAR Program Manager (N12), of the Total Force Management (N1), of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Duties

• You will provide onboarding presentation to New Hire Civilian Mariners regarding CIVMAR Support Group (CSG) check-in and hotel eligibility requirements.
• You will aid CIVMARs by reviewing and assisting with the verification and completion of Official Passport applications.
• You will ensure daily muster of CIVMARs assigned to pool.
• Manages CIVMAR assignment to the contract hotel and ensure distribution of Subsistence and Quarters payments.
• You will act as liaison between CIVMARs awaiting assignment and Detailers.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
• Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present.
• You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential.
• You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
• Experience implementing in-depth common business practices within personnel management rules and regulations, ensuring full organizational compliance.
• Experience communicating via written and oral channels is extensive, providing the proficiency needed to prepare and present ideas, findings, problems, solutions, and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience navigating and carrying out specific actions regarding controversial issues allows for the successful implementation of new ideas and concepts in challenging environments.
• Experience communicating present ideas ensuring clarity, precision, and effectiveness based on professional audience impacted.
• Experience diagnosing organizational hurdles leads to the development of effective problem-solving strategies, actionable solutions, and data-driven recommendations.
• Experience managing sensitive or controversial issues involves executing specific, strategic actions to maintain stability and project integrity.
• Experience applying various software programs is comprehensive, specifically in monitoring and updating data, entering new information, and accessing or preparing automated reports.
