You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT (N4) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Duties

  • You will oversee all aspects of standard/non-standard trial order processing, tracking and expediting of CLF load and ship support material and other shipboard requirements.
  • You will oversee centralized inventory management operations of CLF Load commodities including special mission load list and other material requirements.
  • You will monitor daily replication of inventory and financial management data to and from ships to ensure that data replication is functioning properly.
  • You will maintain total asset visibility of ship support material inventories, CLF afloat inventories, shore-based CARGO and Subsistence Prime Vendor (SPV) inventories.
  • You will participate in logistics analyses impacting the MSC organization.
  • You will evaluate supply chain effectiveness supporting CLF re-supply and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    • Experience with modern database management systems, and Commercial Off-the Shelf (COTS) software packages to include Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with configuration management as well as supply chain optimization and stock control procedures in an automated environment.
    • Experience with developing and promulgating Logistics Plans (LOGPLANS) in support of Operational Plans (OPLANS) to provide Fleet Sustainment.
    • Experience with continual process improvement to make gains in efficiency and effectiveness.
