We are looking for a Locum Doctor (General Practitioner with Aviation Medicine Qualification) to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Valley Medical Centre, in Holyhead, Isle Of Anglesey. This is a locum role (43 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.
Pay Rates:
- PAYE – £63.11 per hour
- Umbrella – £72.58 per hour
Job Description:
- Undertake Primary Healthcare (PHC) clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
- Examinations and Occupational Health (OH) assessments within the locum doctor’s scope of experience and qualification.
- To inform the local medical authority of any case that may affect a serviceman’s ability to undertake their duties.
- To complete reports and documentation in accordance with MOD policy or the requirements of any other government department.
- To attend individual management reviews or case conferences with Primary Healthcare (PHC) and/or line management as required.
Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience:
- General Practitioners must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) both on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without Restrictions.
- Diploma in Aviation Medicine or have completed the RAF Military Aviation Medicine Examiner (MAME) Course.
- Must have a current, satisfactory in date annual appraisal in line with the requirements of the General Medical Council’s (GMC’s) Good Medical Practice (GMP).
- Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
- Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide an NHS Performer number.
- A PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or an Access Northern Ireland certificate is required for this role.
