Are you an experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and mental health professional looking to make a wider impact? Milewood Individual Care & Support is seeking a PBS & Mental Health Practice Manager to join our Quality Team. This is a unique opportunity to influence practice across a growing national organisation, combining strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in complex casework, practitioner development and quality improvement.

As a member of our Senior Management Team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of PBS, trauma-informed care and mental health-informed practice across our services, helping people achieve better outcomes and improved quality of life.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Quality, Governance & Safeguarding, you will provide expert leadership in Positive Behaviour Support, mental health-informed and trauma-informed practice across the organisation. Working collaboratively with operational leaders and frontline teams, you'll support services to develop a deeper understanding of behaviours of concern, distress, trauma and mental health needs, enabling teams to move beyond behaviour management towards proactive, person-centred approaches that reduce restrictive practices and improve quality of life.

Alongside maintaining your own complex casework, you will coach and supervise practitioners, contribute to organisational governance and support continuous quality improvement across Milewood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support for services supporting people with complex and high-risk needs.
  • Manage a caseload of complex PBS referrals.
  • Lead the implementation and development of PBS, mental health-informed and trauma-informed practice across the organisation.
  • Supervise, coach and develop PBS Practitioners.
  • Support high-quality Functional Behaviour Assessments and PBS plans.
  • Deliver training, reflective practice and coaching to managers and frontline teams.
  • Support safeguarding, quality assurance and organisational learning.
  • Contribute to audits, assurance processes and accreditation activities.
  • Prepare reports and present insights to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Contribute to strategic leadership and decision-making as a member of the Senior Management Team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced professional who combines strong clinical knowledge with excellent leadership and coaching skills. You'll have:

  • Significant experience in Positive Behaviour Support.
  • A strong understanding of mental health, trauma-informed care and person-centred practice.
  • Experience supporting people with complex behaviours and high-risk presentations.
  • The ability to complete and oversee high-quality Functional Behaviour Assessments and PBS plans.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or coaching practitioners.
  • Confidence delivering training and influencing practice across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to reducing restrictive practice and improving quality of life.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to travel nationally as required.
