We are looking for an Accountant that will be an integral part of Mileway’s Accounting operations and will support operations such as bank reconciliations, invoice validations, accruals, statutory audits, tax revision and intercompany reconciliations for our Mileway entities across Europe. As Accountant, you will closely work with the local finance manager as well as with the rest of the Investment Accounting team based across different countries. We welcome applications from candidates who hold a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship or visa transfers.
What you’ll do:
- Provide accurate accounting for all transactions based on agreements, invoices, bank statements and tax assessments.
- Participate in the review of the portfolio NOI (including Rental Income and main OPEX lines), G&A, Balance Sheet, as well as other areas of a portfolio.
- Participate in the month-end, quarter and year-end close process.
- Undertake balance sheet reconciliations, across the full balance sheet.
- Prepare and deliver management and ad-hoc reporting, preparing statutory financial statements.
- Ensure that our reporting is in line with all compliance and reporting requirements (e.g. VAT filings, annual tax returns, etc.).
- Make sure that intragroup services agreements (recharges) are accurately executed in a timely manner, and that recharged costs are reconciled for applicable entities.
- Ensure all intergroup and related parties balances are reconciled.
- Interact with legal, compliance, treasury and tax teams to make sure you’re working with information that’s constantly up to date, and that your work is compliant.
- Interact with 3rd parties (tax advisors, external property managers) as part of the above activities.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects such as acquisitions / disposals / refinancings.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in accounting / audit.
- Your degree in an associated field (e.g. accounting, control, finance).
- Fluency in English, other European language a plus.
- Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Previous involvement in company audits.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Your strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Your great team energy.
- You’re a hands-on self-starter who works confidently and independently, and you also collaborate well with others.
- Experience in real estate a plus.
You’ll be based at our London office. While we embrace a flexible approach to work, our policy requires working from the office three days a week.
