We are looking for friendly, positive and compassionate individuals. Whatever amount of time you can spare, be it a day a week or a day once a month, we welcome volunteers from a variety of different circumstances and walks of life. You do not need to have experience for most of our volunteer opportunities - this could be a great chance to gain some valuable skills and experience, whilst making a difference to the lives of the people we support. We regularly upload volunteering opportunities on to Voscur, CanDo, Bristol SU and UWE. An example of the types of volunteer roles that we have are listed below : Activity Buddy Reading Buddy Football Buddy Baking Buddy Gardening Volunteer Volunteer Drivers Art Workshop Volunteer – Staple Hill, Swindon, Brislington, Weston Super Mare Social media volunteer for the art project Cycling Volunteer Warmley Wheelers, Warmley If there isn't a role that is advertised that interests you, please reach out and we will seek to match you with a service / person we support. For all our volunteer roles, a DBS check will be carried out (which we pay for) and we will request two references. The references ideally need to be from a professional or educational reference. If this is an issue, please let the Volunteer Team know and we can support you. We ask that all volunteers attend 3 short courses as a part of their induction. This takes place on Dayforce, our online training and people management platform. We ask that volunteers do their e-learning and onboarding before starting their volunteer role. Alternatively, we hold quarterly face to face learning sessions for volunteers that prefer this approach. Throughout your volunteering, you will be supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too. Please get in touch if you are interested or click the ‘Apply Now’ button.
