We are looking for a support worker to support 4 gentlemen to live the lives they choose. The four men live together in a supported living house in Staple Hill.
The gentlemen range in age from 61 to 77. We are looking for a Support Worker to help them to maintain their lives. Whilst independence is important, they need support with all aspects of their lives; from personal care, menu planning, cooking, household chores and shopping, to achieving their goals, supporting them to access the local and wider community and in-house activities, such as baking art and crafts.
The gentlemen enjoy attending football matches, cricket matches, the local pub to play pool and darts, gardening and visiting places of interest to them.
Medication competency and support to recognise health issues and to attend health appointments is vital.
We require staff to work flexibly to meet the gentlemen’s’ needs and shift patterns will include sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays. Sleep-in shifts are 09:45 to 22.30 (sleep-in) 06:30 to 10:00. We also have shifts available from 10:00 to 19:00 providing 1 to 1 support to enable the gentleman to fulfil their daily activities.
We need you to be IT literate to use digital care plans and medication systems and attention to detail is vital.
Supporting everyone to communicate their needs means being observant of body language and behaviours as they may not be able to directly tell you what\’s going on.
You will need to be confident in reporting any safeguarding concerns as needed.
A car driver would be desirable, but not essential.
At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with acompetitive pay and benefits package including:
