Are you someone who would love to work in a varied and rewarding role where you can help families and carers enjoy a well-earned break, by caring for their loved one while they take some time for themselves? Are you interested in working weekends only?
If so, we want to hear from you!
Stibbs House is located in the St George area of Bristol and offers respite care which provides stimulating and supportive breaks for people with learning disabilities, enabling carers to have a break from their role. The service provides support away from home, maintaining the continuity of guests’ everyday lives and allowing them to continue with their daily routines.
A person-centred approach is key at Stibbs House. Guests are involved in running the service, including how the home looks, what they choose to eat, the activities they take part in and even in the recruitment of new staff.
As a Support Worker ,you may support our guests with eating, maintaining healthy living, outdoor activities and with the day to day running of the service. You might also support them to access the community and develop and maintain relationships with friends and family, as well as in the home with things like cooking, cleaning or games and activities.
If you are a great communicator, are flexible to work a variety of shifts and confident to work alone, you could help our guests to meet their goals and aspirations and feel safe and supported while away from their homes and families. Due to the location of the home and the need to access activities within the local community, it would be desirable if you are a driver. Experience within the sector is not essential as we will provide you with all the training you need to succeed in your role.
At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with acompetitive pay and benefits packageincluding:
- 30 days annual leave entitlement
- Company pension scheme, with Milestones matching employee contributions up to 3% to help grow your retirement pot
- Learning and development opportunities to help you to build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme, and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
- Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions etc.
- Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
- Get paid when you want – access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
