We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our service at Whistley Dene in Potterne. We support six people with learning disabilities in their own home. Whistley Dene is in a rural setting surrounded by beautiful countryside. Having access to transport is essential; you will need a valid full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the house vehicle to support the people that live there.
You will offer support out and about, helping clients to go for coffee, shopping, watch football, bowling, listen to music, visit the cinema, and other everyday activities. The role is suitable for someone new to social care or with life experience and a variety of skills that will benefit the residents. We will provide training, mentoring, and induction.
Hours are worked on a shift rota pattern and will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Shift patterns are:
- 07:00–14:00
- 14:00–21:00
- 07:00–21:00
- Sleep‑in: 21:00–07:00
We work closely with families, health professionals and other social‑care colleagues to provide person‑centred support led by the individual. The resident community seeks a caring and tolerant professional who can provide support through a person‑centred approach.
