We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join an experienced team supporting two young women to live life to the full. We are seeking an experienced, passionate Support Worker to join our team of dedicated staff, as we move forward to achieve our goal of developing a comprehensive care and support service, whose ethos and values place the individual at the centre of everything we do.

The two young women you will be supporting have a range of health and support needs, as they enjoy a variety of social activities. Their support is delivered on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis. You should be able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends and should be enthusiastic about supporting our individuals in a person-centred way. The hours are based on the needs of the service. Direct support shifts are delivered generally between 07:30 - 20:30 or 10:00 – 17:00. There are currently no sleep ins. Weekend working is a maximum of 2 weekends on, 1 weekend off.

Responsibilities

  • To support the emotional, spiritual, physical, medical wellbeing and the material needs of the individual within their own home.
  • To work collectively with the staff team to support individuals with complex communication needs and a range of physical and learning difficulties, promoting positive communication to enable the individual to achieve their hopes, goals and aspirations, maximising the individual’s quality of life and minimising their behaviours of concern.
  • To be responsible in the delivery of high-quality care and support, based upon the individual personalised support plans, promoting independence, choice and enhancing inclusion in the community.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a care-related role is essential.
  • Level 2 Qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Knowledge of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, Autism and behaviours of concern would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection guidelines.
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
  • Driving licence is an essential requirement.
