£15.74 per hour (£12,281 actual salary for 15 hours) 15 hours per week, worked over 2 days or arranged flexibly by agreement. Based at our Trust Office in Staple Hill, Bristol with travel to Swindon, Wiltshire, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath & Northeast Somerset and North Somerset. Closing Date: 30th March 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Milestones Trust as our Moving and Handling Coordinator. We’re looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable professional to champion safe, effective, and person‑centred moving and handling practices across our services. The Moving and Handling Coordinator role is essential in ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice, while supporting personalised, high‑quality care. Milestones Trust is committed to delivering exceptional, person‑centred support and as our Moving and Handling Coordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our standards when helping our services continue to grow and improve. Please note that it is an essential requirement for this role that you hold a Driving license and have access to your own transport.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the delivery of moving and handling training across Trust services
- Support the assessment and planning of care for individuals with mobility needs
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure safe and compliant practices
- Provide guidance and support to staff on equipment use and service‑level techniques
- Liaise with internal teams and external professionals to maintain high standards of care
- Promote personalised approaches to moving and handling, involving individuals in their own care planning
- Contribute to the development and review of Trust‑wide moving and handling policies and procedures
What we’re looking for:
- To be a Qualified/Experienced Moving and Handling Trainer is essential
- Experience in moving and handling within health or social care settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Full driving license and access to transport for work
- willingness to travel across service locations
- Commitment to person‑centred care and Trust values
