We are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader to join our Mental Health Services as a Peripatetic Service Coordinator, supporting teams across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. What does "Peripatetic" mean for this role? In this position, "peripatetic" means you will provide cover across our different regional sites, rather than being based permanently at a single location. However, you will not be traveling to a different site every day. You will typically be assigned to one specific project or location for extended periods—often weeks or months at a time —to provide stable, ongoing support where it is needed most. Because you will become embedded within the teams you support, this role offers a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent Service Coordinator position should a suitable vacancy arise and align with your skills, experience and success in the role. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with complex mental health needs while leading and developing high-performing teams. As a Service Coordinator, you will lead teams to deliver person-centred support that enables people to achieve their goals, build independence, and gain the skills and confidence to live fulfilling lives in their communities. You will support individuals to build resilience, develop practical life skills, strengthen community connections, and take greater control of their future. You will be an inspiring and supportive leader with excellent communication and listening skills, able to motivate, develop, and empower colleagues to deliver outstanding support. A strong understanding of person-centred practice and a commitment to promoting positive mental health, wellbeing, and recovery-focused support are essential. You will ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational standards, while demonstrating positive outcomes for the people we support. Travel & Vehicle Requirements We fully understand that travel is a key part of this role, which is why all business mileage is reimbursed at our standard company rate. Managing the day-to-day operation of services, including rota planning and resource allocation, to ensure people receive the right support at the right time. Supporting teams to co-produce and regularly review support plans, risk assessments and positive risk management strategies. Providing regular supervision, coaching and performance support to team members, while ensuring training and development needs are met. Contributing to referrals, assessments and service transition planning. Monitoring service budgets and expenditure in line with organisational expectations. Providing direct, hands-on support when required and leading by example in delivering high-quality care and support. Have experience supporting people with complex mental health needs and a sound understanding of recovery-focused practice. Be confident in responding to people who are experiencing acute mental illness, in dynamic risk management and developing escalation plans to ensure that people receive the support that they need. Have knowledge of mental health services, legislation and best practice, including experience of trauma-informed approaches. Be flexible to work across a seven-day service, including a variety of shift patterns as required. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a variety of services, develop talented teams and play a key role in shaping high-quality mental health support across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You'll be joining an organisation that is committed to empowering people, investing in its workforce and continually improving the services it delivers. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including: ~34 days’ annual leave , including recognised public holidays ~ Learning and development to support your career growth ~ Nationally recognised qualifications , from entry‑level care to management ~ Flexible working , with rotas provided in advance ~ Occupational Sick Pay after two years, increasing with service ~ Health Cash Plan after probation, offering at least £695 cashback for health treatments (dental, optical, therapies, maternity/paternity, prescriptions) ~ Enhanced maternity and paternity pay ~ Free enhanced DBS check ~ Employee referral scheme with financial rewards ~ Employee Assistance Programme from day one , offering confidential 24/7 support ~ Company pension scheme to help grow your retirement savings We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
