Felix House is a 24-hour residential mental health service with nursing input, supporting up to 11 adults with enduring mental health needs. Our service is rooted in a recovery-focused, trauma-informed approach, empowering individuals to build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to move towards more independent living.

At Felix House, we work alongside the people we support to help them manage their mental health and wellbeing, develop essential life skills, and achieve their personal goals. Our aim is to create a safe, supportive and empowering environment where individuals can progress at their own pace and prepare for greater independence.

About the Role

This role involves working a mixture of shifts, including earlies, lates, nights and weekends, as part of a 24-hour service. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the people we support.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Put the people we support at the centre of everything you do, promoting choice, dignity and independence
  • Provide emotional and practical support tailored to individual needs
  • Support individuals to develop daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, personal care and maintaining a home
  • Encourage engagement in meaningful activities both within the service and in the community
  • Monitor and support mental and physical wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to support planning
  • Assist with medication administration (full training provided)
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, families and external agencies

You will also support individuals to:

  • Access in-house development opportunities, including IT skills, life skills, relaxation techniques, healthy living and wellbeing activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with family and friends
  • Engage in community-based opportunities such as volunteering, employment skills, creative activities, and social groups
