12a Masefield Avenue is a registered nursing home that provides high levels of care for people who have learning disabilities. Staff are skilled at supporting people who have a variety of profound and complex health needs. Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day. Each person we support has a tailored care plan and fun activities are arranged inside and outside of the home.

We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic nurses to join the nursing team and work alongside the Management team at 12a Masefield Avenue. You should have a genuine interest in working with people with learning disabilities. Successful individuals should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of problem solving and working well under pressure. You will need to be creative, flexible, and able to work on your own initiative.

The successful candidate will need to be available during the day to get to know people and attend training during the induction period and for occasional day shifts and training throughout the period of their employment. We take a holistic approach to ensure that the people we support have every opportunity to live healthy and independent lives with maximum choice and involvement. Essentials for the role:

  • Registered Nurse (RNLD/RN/RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Experience working in Learning Disability Services is desirable
  • Experience in assessing, planning and reviewing care and support needs of people with complex Learning Disabilities
  • Passion for providing truly individualised care
  • Strong team-working skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, people we support and a range of stakeholders
  • Able to be a role model to staff
  • Commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice
