Would you love to work in a varied and rewarding role, where you can help families and carers enjoy a well-earned break, by caring for their loved one while they take some time for themselves? If so, we want to hear from you! We have two respite services located in the St George area of Bristol, and Little Stoke area of Bristol, respite care which provides stimulating and supportive breaks for people with learning disabilities, enabling carers to have a break from their role. The service provides support away from home, maintaining the continuity of guests’ everyday lives and allowing them to continue with their daily routines. A person-centred approach is key. Guests are involved in running the service, including how the home looks, what they choose to eat, the activities they take part in and even in the recruitment of new staff. As a Support Worker, you may support our guests with eating, maintaining healthy living, outdoor activities and with the day to day running of the service. You might also support them to access the community and develop and maintain relationships with friends and family, as well as in the home with things like cooking, cleaning or games and activities. If you are a great communicator, are flexible to work a variety of shifts and confident to work alone, you could help our guests to meet their goals and aspirations and feel safe and supported while away from their homes and families. Due to the location of the home and the need to access activities within the local community, to be a driver would be desirable. Experience within the sector is not essential as we will provide you with all the training you need to succeed in your role. At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including: 30 days’ annual leave, including recognised public holidays Learning and development to support your career growth Nationally recognised qualifications, from entry‑level care to management Flexible working, with rotas provided in advance Occupational Sick Pay after two years, increasing with service Health Cash Plan after probation, offering at least £695 cashback for health treatments (dental, optical, therapies, maternity/paternity, prescriptions) Enhanced maternity and paternity pay Free enhanced DBS check Dayforce Wallet, giving you access to your earnings before payday Employee referral scheme with financial rewards Employee Assistance Programme from day one, offering confidential 24/7 support Company pension scheme to help grow your retirement savings We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within Milestones Trust.
