Milestones Trust is expanding our internal maintenance team and are looking for another skilled operative to work within our homes. You’ll carry out everyday repairs alongside planned maintenance across our estate, which spans from Weston-Super-Mare to Wiltshire and Swindon, though most of the work will take place in Bristol.
We’re looking for a versatile, multi‑skilled operative with solid experience across plumbing, carpentry and decorating. While not essential, the ability to carry out basic electrical tasks would be a welcome bonus. As the role involves travel, a full UK driving licence is required — a company vehicle is supplied.
At Milestones Trust, we’ve been investing in a strong, compassionate team of support operatives who share our commitment to making a real difference. As a not‑for‑profit organisation, every decision we make is driven by the needs of the people we support, not financial gain. We’re part of a Trust that champions its staff and people we support and celebrates the impact they have every day.
Working hours are Monday – Thursday 0830 – 1630 and Friday 0830 – 1600. This can be flexible to a degree.
Here at Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity we are today. That’s why we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:
- 30 days’ annual leave, including recognised public holidays
- Learning and development to support your career growth
- Nationally recognised qualifications, from entry‑level care to management
- Flexible working, with rotas provided in advance
- Occupational Sick Pay after two years, increasing with service
- Health Cash Plan after probation, offering at least £695 cashback for health treatments (dental, optical, therapies, maternity/paternity, prescriptions)
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Free enhanced DBS check
- Dayforce Wallet, giving you access to your earnings before payday
- Employee referral scheme with financial rewards
- Employee Assistance Programme from day one, offering confidential 24/7 support
- Company pension scheme to help grow your retirement savings
We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
