Drainage Groundworker Location: RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, IP27 Rate: £21.50 per hour Start Date: 12/10/2026 Duration: Up to 2 years Hours: 06:30 – 16:30 We are currently recruiting for 2 experienced Drainage Groundworkers to join a long-term project based at RAF Lakenheath. The project is expected to run for up to 2 years and we are looking for experienced groundworkers who have a strong background in drainage and can carry out works to an adoptable road standard. Duties will include: * Deep drainage * Storm and foul drainage * Concrete and plastic pipe installation * Pipe laying, bedding and surround * Manholes and inspection chambers * Catch pits and gullies * Drainage connections * Setting levels and falls * Backfilling and reinstatement * Kerbing and associated road drainage * Working around existing services * General groundworks associated with drainage and road construction Requirements: * CSCS Skilled Worker card or equivalent * Dumper ticket * Proven drainage/groundworks experience * Previous experience working to adoptable road standards * Own basic hand tools * Able to provide references from previous drainage projects * Additional relevant groundworks tickets are beneficial RAF Base Requirements: Due to the security requirements associated with working on an RAF base, applicants must: * Hold a British passport * Meet the required site security and criminal record vetting criteria * Be willing to undertake drug and alcohol testing * Meet all RAF/client site-access requirements Weekend work is not currently available, although overtime may occasionally be offered during the week. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drainage groundworkers looking for long-term, consistent work on a project running for up to 2 years.
