As a Material Specialist, you will focus on giving excellent service to our team members. You will be responsible for inventorying materials for our HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing Departments within Milestone. We’ll rely on you to ensure the appropriate materials are ready to be handed to a technician.
Basic Functions:
- Creating purchase orders, requisitioning material, and reconciling shipping receipts
- Answering phone calls from technicians
- Locating specialty parts
- Keeping track of serialized items
- Helping technicians at the front counter
- Creating end of day pick tickets and restock orders
- Proficient in and assisting with Shipping and Receiving Technician
- Willingness to help in any other areas needed
- Maintain a clean working environment
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a clean driving record and current valid driver license
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be able to pass Drug Screen and Background Check

- Must have mental skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and a technical vocabulary to understand directions and adhere to established practices

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift and move items of 75 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently for extended periods
- Must be able to carry heavy items up and down stairs
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, rain, snow, or sleet
