A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Geography Teacher to step into a subject lead role at a forward-thinking secondary school in the Kingshurst area. As the lead for the Geography department, you’ll combine excellent classroom teaching with departmental leadership, driving curriculum development and mentoring colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and the ongoing development of the department
- Support colleagues through coaching and modelling best practice
- Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes across the subject
- Work closely with senior leaders to align geography teaching with the school’s strategic goals
Required Experience
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Proven experience teaching geography in UK secondary schools
- Previous departmental or leadership responsibility is highly desirable
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum design
- Excellent communication, organisation, and people management skills
