We are seeking a motivated and innovative Product Design Engineer to join our growing team in Milton Keynes. This is a varied and exciting role offering the opportunity to work on the design and development of products for the outdoor leisure market, with a particular focus on the caravan and motorhome industry.

The successful candidate will be passionate about creating user-focused products, have a strong technical background in product and mechanical design, and enjoy seeing projects progress from concept through to production. In addition to design responsibilities, the role will involve liaising with customers and assisting the general public with product enquiries and technical questions. As such, excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative products for the outdoor leisure, caravan, and motorhome sectors.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Develop concepts from initial idea through to production.
  • Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure successful product development.
  • Identify design improvements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Assist with product testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Respond to customer and public enquiries, providing technical support and product guidance.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Contribute ideas for new products and product enhancements.
RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Product Design Engineering and/or Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with confidence in dealing directly with the public.
  • Full UK driving licence.
