We are a dynamic, friendly, training practice with 8700 patients and are looking for a GP to join our team of 5 partners and 6 salaried doctors to cover a maternity leave. We welcome GPs at any stage of their career, including recently or newly qualified GPs. We offer a supportive package with mentoring to help someone starting off in practice or returning after a break. The post is for 5 sessions a week (Tuesday and Friday all day with a Thursday morning) and will run for approximately 12 months.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the whole practice team is very important to us. We have a daily morning huddle, weekly clinical meetings, monthly whole team meetings, and lunch together every day, as well as regular walks and wellbeing sessions. We are a SystmOne practice with a total triage system using eConsult. Sessions have a maximum of 13 patients, with a mix of face‑to‑face and phone calls, and you will work approximately one duty session (half‑day) per week. We have an expanding multidisciplinary team including a pharmacy team, nurse practitioner and mental health practitioners, as well as Primary Care Network staff attached to the practice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent
  • JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • National Performers List Registration
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (e.g., MPS/MDU)
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
  • Able to hold a practice list
  • Experience of total triage
  • SystmOne clinical system experience

Experience

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit
  • Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving & analytical skills
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
  • Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
  • Experience with clinical risk management
  • Experience with SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential
