Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking an Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Assistant On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) (Operations, Senior Analyst) to support a Federal Government client in Norfolk, VA. The AIT A-OSIC will support the government OSIC, as needed. This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the government OSIC with duties, including attending or running meetings, coordinating activities, developing Courses of Action (COA), providing technical expertise.
- Maintain an on-site presence, particularly for key/critical milestones and events.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of ship spaces. Must be able to climb ladderwells.
- Attend advance planning meetings.
- Support Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO)/ Naval Supervisory Authority (NSA) Check-In/Check-Out.
- Review AIT Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) updates.
- Resolve AIT issues.
- Support Pre-Installation Check Out (PICO).
- Support execution of the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to ensure AIT compliance with specified technical and quality requirements.
- Support the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process.
- Ensure the AIT complies with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items (SIs).
- Ensure that proper housekeeping and Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) requirements are maintained.
- Ensure AIT contractor is maintaining a QA workbook on-site during the installation.
- Provide a periodic task status report to the AIT Manager. Report shall address overall alteration status, AIT progress, problems encountered, and lessons learned.
- Coordinate and conduct Ship’s Force/NSA Out-Brief.
- Ensure AIT is maintaining red-lined mark-ups of all drawings.
- Support delivery of all Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) (e.g. tech manuals, red-line drawings, training, etc.).
- Provide an itemized inventory utilizing the DD1149 (if applicable) for all deliverables to the ship with a signature from the appropriate department head or authorized personnel.
- Provide enhanced oversight of all safety processes/procedures in order to ensure full regulatory compliance, including OSHA and local shipyard standards.
- Coordinate, integrate, and document all modernization activity for MCT (Multi-Cable Transit) and MCP (Multi-Cable Penetration), cable/cableway removals, reroutes, installations and modifications impacted ShipAlt installations.
- Support travel requests, as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years of shipboard experience.
- Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior NCO or higher military experience.
- Inspection experience.
- Knowledgeable of NAVSEA TS.
- OSHA 10-hr Maritime certification.
- Shipboard AIT experience.
- Familiarity of NAVSEA Standard Items and Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual.
Education
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Clearance

For this position, the projected compensation range is $80,000 - $110,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
