The predicted salary is between 12 - 18 £ per hour.
MCR are currently recruiting for a Power Press Tool Setter / Operator for our client based in Dudley. Have you got what it takes to succeed? The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.
Duties:
- To set, operate Power Presses ranging from 25T – 400T (S & B; HME, Bentley, TOS).
- Set press tools including forming, piercing, cropping and progression/follow through tooling.
- Set De-Coilers.
- Set Pedestal drillers (training will be given).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to power press settings, tooling or production quality.
- Carry out routine quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances and engineering drawings (Using Vernier’s, callipers, plug gauges and height gauges).
- Grinding of dies and punches (Preferred but not essential).
- Perform basic preventative maintenance, including the signing off and inspection of press guards.
- Record production output and quality inspection data on provided documents.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards around machinery, benches, and work areas in line with ISO 9001 practices.
- Follow all company Health & Safety and PPE policies without exception.
- Work flexible hours and overtime as required with a positive, team-first attitude.
Skills:
- Proven experience in setting and operating power presses across a range of tooling types.
- Must hold a valid Power Press Setter’s Certificate (RoSpa).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Competent in using standard workshop and quality measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and quality.
- Familiarity with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet production targets.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with colleagues, production supervisor and quality team.
- Provide guidance and informal training to junior operators when required.
Working Conditions:
- Based on shop floor, industrial manufacturing environment.
Standards working hours:
- Monday – Thursday OR 07.30 – 16.15
- Friday 08.00 – 15.30 OR 07.30 – 12.30
- (Some overtime may be required to meet production demands)
Rate of pay: £15ph to start, will increase once taken on perm.
