We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Non-Executive Chairman to lead the Board of Directors of a dynamic and growing organization operating at the intersection of real estate development and life sciences innovation. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in governance, strategic leadership, and boardroom influence, with deep insights into both sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Board Leadership: Chair board meetings with clarity and purpose, ensuring effective governance and strategic alignment.
- Governance Oversight: Ensure the company adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance, transparency, and accountability.
- Strategic Direction: Guide the development and execution of long-term strategies, particularly those that integrate real estate assets with life sciences innovation.
- Sustainable Business Model Development: Champion the creation of a self-sustaining life sciences ecosystem, leveraging real estate assets to support incubators, R&D hubs, and biotech clusters. Promote partnerships with academia, healthcare providers, and investors to drive innovation and commercial viability. Encourage revenue diversification through licensing, IP commercialization, and strategic joint ventures.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company with key stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and strategic partners.
- Sector Expertise: Leverage knowledge of real estate and life sciences to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and anticipate industry trends.
- Mentorship & Support: Provide guidance and support to the CEO and executive team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and resilience.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Proven leadership at board level, ideally as Chair or Senior Independent Director. Deep understanding of governance frameworks and boardroom dynamics. Strategic experience in both real estate and life sciences sectors.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Independent thinker with high integrity and sound judgment. Ability to balance challenge and support in board interactions. Visionary mindset with a pragmatic approach to execution.
- Qualifications: Experience in business, law, science, or a related field. Chartered Director or equivalent governance qualification (preferred).
