Mighty Kids Supplements is a fast growing e-commerce dietary supplement business with £10M annual turnover. We’re looking for a recent law graduate to join our friendly team of 20 as a full-time legal advisor, fully remote.
Base pay range
Salary £48k-£90k dependent on qualification and experience.
Requirements
- LLB degree at 2:1 or higher (or foreign equivalent), top-tier institutions preferred.
- Familiarity with and experience of performing legal research in UK, EU and USA jurisdictions.
- Practice experience (at least an internship) preferred but not essential.
Duties
- Play a key role in international expansion of the business by overseeing the formation and structuring of overseas entities, including establishing group transfer pricing procedures, and advising on legal aspects of M&A.
- Where relevant, perform repeatable duties for UK, EU, USA and Canadian jurisdictions.
- Respond at first instance to any claim brought against the company, with the aim of applying relevant statutory provisions and/or case law to dissuade settlement.
- Conduct rigorous assessments and compliance reviews across business areas including health claims on product labels, website, and social media channels.
- Review health-related advice given by customer care team and via social media channels.
- Determine the justifiable age range for products in a largely unregulated environment.
- Oversee all aspects of GDPR law, including owning the role of GDPR officer.
- Assess transfer of product liability to the manufacturer in the event of product-related claims.
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for responding to product-related claims at first instance.
- Reconstruct the company terms and conditions and privacy policy to comprehensively define rights and obligations in all foreseeable business circumstances, and maintain these documents in response to future developments.
- Assess eligibility for VAT zero-rating (UK) on a new product designed for people with disabilities.
