About Us: At Migdale Transport Ltd, we take pride in safely and efficiently transporting live fish, maintaining the highest standards of welfare and environmental responsibility. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and smooth operation of our vessel while contributing to our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals and manage galley operations.
- Control victuals and commodities, reporting requirements to the Master.
- Monitor hygiene standards in the galley, mess room, and food stores, reporting deficiencies to the Chief Officer.
- Implement the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and adhere to safe working practices.
- Perform maintenance, greasing, and cleaning tasks on deck and in accommodation areas.
- Operate cranes (if qualified or supervised).
- Assist with mooring operations under the direction of senior officers.
- Carry out navigational watches as a lookout or helmsman (if certified).
- Undertake security duties as instructed by the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
- Carry out additional tasks, within your capabilities, to support the vessel’s safe operation.
Requirements:
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Current ENG1 medical certificate.
- Experience in meal preparation and galley operations.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail, especially in safety and hygiene.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and attention to detail, particularly when handling live cargo.
- Experience in similar roles or familiarity with live fish transport is advantageous but not essential.
