About the Role
The AML Analyst is responsible for monitoring and investigating customer activity to detect and prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions breaches, fraud, and other financial crime risks.
Working closely with the AML and Compliance teams, the role supports Mi Finity's AML/CFT framework across payment, e-money.
- Remote work allowance post probation beginning at 3 weeks in year 1 and increasing with tenure.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate customer transactions, reviewing alerts and identifying suspicious activity using AML monitoring systems.
- Conduct ongoing customer monitoring to ensure activity aligns with customer profiles, source of funds, and expected behaviour.
- Perform CDD and EDD, including reviews of high-risk customers, jurisdictions, PEPs, and crypto-asset related activity where applicable.
- Support customer risk assessments, periodic reviews, remediation activities, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Identify and elevate potential money laundering, sanctions, fraud, and other financial crime risks in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Any other ad hoc tasks assigned by Management from time to time.
Experience & Knowledge
- 2-3 years' experience in AML, Financial Crime, Fraud, Compliance, or Risk within a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience in transaction monitoring, investigations, customer due diligence.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions compliance, and financial crime prevention
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, EMI, PSP, or crypto-asset businesses is advantageous.
Skills
- Strong analytical and investigative capability, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to identify suspicious activity and make sound risk-based decisions.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Proficient in AML monitoring systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- AML/CFT, Compliance, Financial Crime, or crypto-related professional certifications are desirable.
