About the role

We are seeking to appoint a 9-month 0.5 fixed term Senior Lecturer with practice experience as a Solicitor in England and Wales to strengthen our growing LLB Programmes, particularly in our Law Clinic and Practising as a Solicitor module. We are looking for Solicitor with practice experience in any of the following:

• Family Law
• Employment Law
• Business or Consumer Law

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach, assess and support students on the Law Clinic and Practicing as a Solicitor module.
• Supervise student casework and ensure appropriate oversight of client‑facing activity in accordance with SRA requirements and UWE’s professional indemnity insurance provisions.
• Maintain and develop relationships with external partners including law firms, charities, community organisations, and pro bono networks.

About you

We are looking for an innovative, inclusive and collaborative individual to join us as a fixed‑term Senior Lecturer on a 9-month contract.

You will bring excellent communication skills, strong organisation and effective time‑management, with the ability to prioritise confidently across multiple deadlines. You will be skilled at explaining complex information clearly and connecting learning to real‑world professional or commercial contexts. Your interpersonal strengths will enable you to build positive, productive working relationships.

You will be committed to continually enhancing your teaching practice, including a focus on using technology effectively to support engaging, high‑quality learning.

A student‑centred approach and a commitment to high ethical standards are essential. You will also demonstrate adaptability, resilience and the confidence to navigate demanding or changing situations with professionalism and sound judgement.
