We are excited to be recruiting for the position of Senior Lecturer in Building Information Modelling (BIM). Working in the School of Architecture and Environment, and specifically the Digital Construction subject area, this post will focus on teaching and supporting learners on the Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Design, Construction and Operations programme but also on the wider built-environment programmes.
The MSc in Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Design Construction and Operations programme covers a lot of ground and prepares students in all aspects of BIM. To do this the programme is split; half theory and half practice, using the latest modelling and management, analysis and visualisation tools. Students learn to understand the complete building lifecycle, exploring innovative sustainable and collaborative practices in building information modelling and management, and examine a range of existing and emerging BIM issues.
We are looking for a well-rounded individual with practice and/or teaching/training in BIM, capable of bringing both industry insight and pedagogical expertise to the role. A successful candidate for the Senior Lecturer position will demonstrate advanced expertise in BIM and hands-on proficiency with key industry tools, including Autodesk Revit, Dynamo, and Rhino. They will be confident in designing and delivering workshops, bootcamps, and practical sessions that introduce learners to emerging digital construction technologies.
The role requires someone who can teach BIM-related content to both small specialist groups and large interdisciplinary cohorts, fostering collaboration, digital literacy, and industry-aligned skills across the built-environment disciplines.
