About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional to step into a pivotal role shaping the future of Health, Safety and Quality across our UK & Ireland Group companies. As our Health, Safety and Quality Manager (UK&I), you’ll own the audit and requirements, lead a team with H&S designated within their role, champion best practice, and guide the Group at every level — from the Board to frontline teams. You’ll own and evolve our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system ahead of 2026 recertification, drive continuous improvement through scalable, compliant procedures, and ensure consistency and confidence in everything we deliver.
What you will be doing in this role
- Health and Safety
- Act as the Responsible Person for all Health and Safety matters across the UK & Ireland Group of companies, ensuring compliance with current legislation and recognised best practice.
- Set the strategic direction for effective Health and Safety management and workplace wellbeing programmes, including mental health first aid initiatives.
- Review, develop, and maintain all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies, ensuring consistent implementation across the organisation.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to existing, new, and forthcoming Health and Safety legislation, ensuring the Group has robust systems and procedures in place to meet all legal and compliance requirements.
- Ensure robust risk assessment processes and incident reporting and investigation systems are in place and consistently followed across the organisation.
- Conduct Health and Safety inspections of all UK sites at least twice annually.
- Arrange and facilitate a full compliance audit on a biennial basis.
- Ensure Fire Risk Assessments for all UK sites are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Ensure due diligence for any potential UK acquisitions includes a comprehensive Health and Safety audit, and that post-acquisition entities align with the Group Health and Safety policy within three months.
- Report to the UK Management Team on Health and Safety matters on a bi-annual basis.
- Provide senior leadership and strategic direction for Quality Management across the organisation.
- Act as Executive Owner and Management Representative for the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Maintain full ownership of the QMS, ensuring policies, procedures, and documented information remain current, effective, and consistently applied.
- Lead the internal audit programme, ensuring it is risk based and drives measurable improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using audit findings, KPIs, customer feedback, and performance data.
- Work closely with the Board, Executive Team, and senior managers to embed quality governance into decision making.
- Lead Management Review processes and report on quality performance, risks, and improvement activity.
What you will bring to the role
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification in Health & Safety
- Experience and working knowledge of Quality Management Systems preferably ISO9002-2015
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience working within a multifaceted organisation or group with businesses of differing posture.
- Demonstrated experience engaging stakeholders at all levels and constructively challenging requirements to ensure the best outcomes.
- Experience in managing Health, Safety and Quality across a multi-site organisation.
