About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Executive (BDE), to join our Business Development team focusing on the preservation of existing business whilst uncovering additional opportunity for sales growth.

You will be required to maximise sales and profits and identify new business opportunities, by delivering a high level of customer service ensuring customer retention and defending against competitive activity by establishing ‘preferred supplier status’ for Midwich.

  • What you will be doing in this role
  • Achieve monthly GP targets and agreed KPI’s.
  • Achieve the agreed level of proactive activity in relation to performance targets.
  • Prepare scheduled call patterns in relation to customer's requirements.
  • Promote and identify key product areas highighted by the business as important future revenue and profit streams.
  • Schedule follow up calls to maintain the relationship and familiarity.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the customer's organisational structure, key personnel, decision makers, financial status, business activities, trading history and potential needs.
  • Engage with customers on both proactive and reactive calls to profile the customer, specify solution and close the deal.
  • Liaise with Technology Specialists to highlight potential opportunities for their products and technologies.
  • Uncover competitive activity within our customers and implement a plan to secure the business away from our competition.
  • Provide system quotations to customers in line with Company procedure.
  • Follow up quotes and customer enquiries to secure subsequent orders.
  • Use effective questioning to identify the actual requirements of the customer and ensure that you respond with the most suitable option to fulfil their requirements.
  • Effectively handle day-to-day issues and take necessary action to ensure a prompt and satisfactory resolution.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service in relation to your role and responsibilities.
  • Establish Midwich as the customer's distributor of choice.
