About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our team, specialising in Zinc and Aluminium die-casting tooling. In this hands-on role, you will manufacture, modify, and maintain tooling to support production and ensure high-quality output. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with precision, and seeing the tangible results of their craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, modify, and maintain die-casting tooling for Zinc and Aluminium components.
- Interpret and work from 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Support production teams by ensuring tooling is operational and optimised.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve tooling issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to improve tooling performance and component quality.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling modifications and maintenance.
- Suggest improvements for tooling processes, designs, and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven toolmaking or mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Experience in die casting, injection moulding, or press tooling is advantageous.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and methodical in approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
