# Cleaning Team LeaderMidsummer Place, Milton KeynesApply now## About this role**Purpose of the Role**As a Team Leader within the Housekeeping and Environmental Services department, you will ensure exemplary standards of cleaning, waste and customer services are provided. Team building and staff morale will be a priority, and you will be expected to positively contribute to the performance of the business. This position requires a close working relationship with front line colleagues, support staff, management, and tenants to ensure the service delivery exceed expectations. You will be a high energy leader, presentable and a natural communicator with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.## Job summary### SalarySalary - £16.09 per hour### Hours per weekWorking Hours - 32.66hrs per weekApply**Key Responsibilities**To support the line manager in the operational delivery of shift cleaning, waste, and customer service within the shopping centreEnsure compliance with all internal procedures, site processes and external bodies including enforcement agencies and auditory bodiesDeliver the rota ensuring correct manning levels are maintained at all timesMotivate and monitor the team to achieve the highest possible standards of service deliveryMaintain standards of performance, discipline, and welfare for the team in accordance with company policiesTo support the manager in development and training of staffManagement of the cleaning equipment, consumables and materials including stock controlTo ensure all equipment/machinery is in good working order. To report any machinery faults to line manager to ensure repairs are rectified quicklyDaily monitoring of cleaning standards throughout external areas ensuring team proactively respond to all tasks as requiredTo ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the relevant H&S regulationsUndertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the businessTo ensure that records are held and updated as requiredEnsure periodic cleaning tasks are carried out accordingly to the scheduleTo take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the jobTo ensure appropriate equipment is available for the cleaning team to carry out their roleEnsure periodic cleaning tasks are carried out accordingly to the scheduleTo take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the jobSupport role in operational HR responsibilities to retain and develop the shift teamTo deliver excellent communication and motivation for all direct reportsWork with the manager ensuring all new starters are inducted and trained in accordance to the contractual and statutory requirementsAssist with toolbox talks and complete as per company policyTo assist with the identification of training needs and ensure accurate site records are maintained at all times.**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:**Essential**· Successful track records of delivering cleaning and waste· Proven record of team leadership· Demonstrable IT skills/computer literate inc Microsoft Office, Excel and Word· Experience in the provision of cleaning services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.· Able to demonstrate a good level of customer service.· Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.· Honest and reliable work ethic.· Well presented.· Good interpersonal and communication skills.· Able to work in both/internal and external environments.· Willingness to take part in further on-site training.**Desirable**· Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.· IOSH· First Aid· Body fluids trainedCompetencies:· Experience within teams where motivation and development have been key drivers· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Excellent leadership and motivational skills· Capability to work unsupervised and take responsibility· Ability to create and analyse management information, including financial, performance, quality, activity and trends)· Experience of cleaning within the retail environment· Working knowledge of cleaning equipment/machines· Must have a flexible hands-on attitude· Flexible attitude towards shifts patterns required to meet the needs of the business· Aptitude to remain calm under pressure· Ability to communicate across all levels with a sound understanding of diversity in the workplace #J-18808-Ljbffr
