Role: Executive Assistant to COO & Central Operation Team Leads
Location: Trust Head Office, Writhlington Radstock
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Hours: 37 hours per week (8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.00pm on Friday)
Term Time, plus inset days plus 20 additional days to be worked during school closure periods (at least 10 of these will be during the summer holiday).
Salary: Grade 7 - 8 depending on experience, £17.85 - £21.65 per hour, full time equivalent salary £34,434 - £41,771, (actual annual salary £32,622 - £39,573)
Join our Central Operations Team
We are seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to the COO and Central Operations Team Leads to provide high-level administrative, organisational and strategic support within our successful Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced executive assistant or senior administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing complex priorities and wants to play a key role in supporting effective Trust-wide operations.
Working closely with the COO, Trust Admin Lead and Central Operations Team, you will act as a trusted partner, ensuring the smooth coordination of executive activity, communications, compliance processes and operational systems. You will bring outstanding organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work with senior leaders across the Trust.
About the role
As Executive Assistant, you will provide proactive support to the COO, including managing a busy and changing diary, coordinating meetings, preparing high-quality documentation and ensuring key priorities and deadlines are delivered effectively.
You will take ownership of executive administration and provide additional capacity across the Central Operations Team by supporting the development of efficient systems, processes and procedures. You will also contribute to compliance activity, project coordination and the continuous improvement of Trust operations.
The role will include:
- Providing high-level executive and PA support to the COO, including diary management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements and expense administration
- Acting as a professional gatekeeper, managing communications, priorities and information flow on behalf of the COO and Central Operations Team
- Organising senior leadership meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes and monitoring actions through to completion
- Supporting confidential work with professionalism, discretion and integrity
- Preparing reports, correspondence, board documentation and operational updates
- Supporting Trust-wide compliance processes including policies, risk management, health and safety reporting, GDPR and statutory documentation
- Coordinating documentation and communications for schools joining the Trust
- Supporting the development and improvement of central systems, procedures and administrative processes
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues across the wider administrative team
- Supporting CPD events, inset coordination and Trust-wide initiatives
- Assisting schools with embedding Trust processes, templates and systems
About you
You will be an experienced executive assistant, PA or senior administrator who can demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload with competing priorities.
You will be confident working with senior leaders, handling sensitive information and producing accurate, professional documentation. You will be proactive, solution-focused and able to use your initiative while working collaboratively as part of a wider team.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience in an executive support or senior administrative role
- Excellent diary management and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience of preparing professional documents, reports and meeting papers
- Confidence taking accurate minutes and tracking actions
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience managing electronic records and administrative systems
- The ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
- A professional, approachable and customer-focused attitude
