Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Manager/Operations Manager/Headteacher/Trust Estates Manager.
  • Undertake a range of duties with regard to the building environment of the Midsomer Norton School Partnership, ensuring the safety and security of users.
  • Escort contractors and others to sites of repair and maintenance.
  • Undertake a reasonable range of handyperson duties and repairs as mutually agreed with the Site Manager/Operations Manager/Headteacher/Trust Estates Manager (e.g. remedial painting, decorating, general building repairs and light bulb renewal).
  • Carry out repairs, fixings and small-scale improvements.
  • Perform emergency internal cleaning (soiling of toilets, sickness etc.) as determined by the School.
  • Ensure that designated areas are cleaned in accordance with school guidelines.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials, ordering appropriate stores and materials.
  • Remove litter and graffiti from paths and hard surfaces.
  • Help keep drains free of obstruction.
  • Ensure pedestrian access in periods of severe weather conditions.
  • Treat main entrances and paths with salt/grit as appropriate during severe weather conditions.
  • Take delivery of stores, goods and equipment and distribute as appropriate throughout the school, completing paperwork as required.
  • Set out/put away furniture for school events and examinations.
  • Undertake general porterage as required.
  • Undertake such tasks which are commensurate with the position at the direction of the Leadership Team.
