Job Description:

Grade: 4 SCP 7 - 10 - £9,196.55 - £9,646.22

Responsible to: Head Teacher and Site Manager

Responsible for: The postholder will be required to secure the site at the end of the day, general repairs, maintenance and compliance tasks.

Hours of work: 15:00 - 18:00 Term Time Only - 15hrs per week. Flexible for extra hours during the school holidays.

Job Purpose: The primary purpose of this post is to undertake a range of duties with regard to the building, site and environment and their users, ensuring their safety and security.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs around the school
  • Painting, filling and minor decorating tasks
  • Putting up shelves and fixtures
  • Supporting the upkeep, safety and appearance of the site
  • Assisting with general site duties as required

Physical Effort & Working Environment:

The postholder will be expected to undertake bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and stretching in the course of their duties. There may be an increased level of physical effort required in areas for children with personal or specialist needs. Due to the nature of cleaning, there will be an expectation that the postholder will be exposed to dirt and dust which on occasions, for example adverse weather conditions, may be higher than normal.
