The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
37 hours per week - term time only plus 2 additional days – fixed term until 31 August 2026. Required from September 2025, an energetic, organised, adaptable and resilient person with good inter-personal skills, who enjoys a variety of tasks and challenges and working with young people.
Having achieved the best results in the school's history in summer 2023, followed by a visit from Ofsted in May 2024, where we were judged as a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler's Mead Academy is going from strength to strength.
The appointed candidate will be required to liaise with the Cover Manager and Senior Leadership Team to provide classroom based cover for absent teachers, ensuring a calm and purposeful working atmosphere. Duties will include:
- Settling and supervising classes
- Explaining the work that has been set
- Distribution and collection of materials in the lesson
- Helping students with their learning as required
Hours of work will be 37 hours per week (08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:00 – 15:30 on Friday), term time only plus 2 additional INSET days.
The varied nature of the role requires someone who can deal with students in a steady and firm way but who believes strongly in mutual respect. A good sense of humour is an advantage along with a genuine interest in working with students aged between 11 and 16.
