Hayesfield Girls’ School is seeking to appoint a Receptionist to join their front office team on a full-time basis.
Salary: £25,583-£26,403 per annum, pro rata (Grade 3 SPC 5-7)
Actual salary: £21,980-£22,684 per annum
Working hours: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days

The Role
As the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, you will act as a key ambassador for the school. You will provide high-quality administrative support, ensuring the front-of-house service is friendly, efficient, and professional at all times.
The key responsibilities are:
- Reception & Customer Focus: Act as the first point of reference for all callers and visitors, resolving enquiries with a helpful and professional manner.
- School Administration: Provide comprehensive admin support, including managing parent communications, maintaining notice boards, and assisting with school publications.
- Data & Systems: Maintain student databases (Arbor) and attendance registers, ensuring pupil records are accurate and confidential.
- Safety & First Aid: Undergo First Aid training to assist students and staff. Act as a coordinator during fire emergencies by managing registers and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Safeguarding: Maintain a secure site by managing the visitor log and ensuring all contractors and guests are appropriately identified.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Education: Good general education including GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
- Experience: Proven experience working in a busy office environment with a strong customer service ethos.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
- IT Skills: Strong IT literacy with experience using spreadsheets and general office software.
- Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, use initiative, and maintain professional integrity and confidentiality at all times.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of working within an educational environment.
- Knowledge of the Arbor management information system.
- Relevant qualification in Customer Service or Business Administration.
