The Aberdeenshire Council Local Development Plan Team is looking to appoint an enthusiastic officer to provide secondment cover until Autumn 2026. Aberdeenshire Council is at the forefront of Scottish development planning, and this role offers invaluable transferrable experience with new style Local Development Plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical assessment of site bids as part of Calls for Ideas and Calls for Sites assessments.
  • Prepare indicative recommendations.
  • Engage with key agencies, stakeholders, communities, and elected members.
  • Support local communities in producing Local Place Plans, as required.

Details of the outputs and timetable for this work are presented in the Development Plan Scheme found on the Council website. The team works closely together to explore and debate emerging issues from the new style of plan making. Hybrid working is encouraged, with access to a team workspace at Woodhill House, Aberdeen. The Council operates a flexi‑time system.
