The Children Services Disability Team is looking for a motivated social worker who can contribute to the team and help the service develop. The role combines social care and social work, assessment and support responsibilities. We aim to work in a relational way, with families and partners, to help improve outcomes for children and families.

A degree in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker is essential. A Diploma in Social Work with SSSC registration as a social worker is an acceptable alternative together with a Mental Health Officer academic qualification.

Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £44,989.60 per annum.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults.
