The predicted salary is between 29700 - 36300 £ per year.
We are looking for a community learning and development practitioner who can work across Midlothian with a focus on community development. The postholder will work closely with community groups and organisations to build their capacity and to develop community cohesion and belonging, working with a wide range of partners across the Council, public sector, third sector and national organisations.
Key parts of this post may include leading on and/or contributing to asset transfer, large grants and other external funding, anti-poverty work, support to Community Councils and Management Committees and developing local improvement plans in key geographic areas. Detailed knowledge of the Community Empowerment Act is desirable.
The postholder will be required to work flexibly to meet service requirements, including frequent evening working, occasional weekend working, and attendance at residential events and programmes where required. As part of a job share, the identified days for this post are Wednesday to Friday.
KNOWLEDGE
It is essential that the jobholder has extensive experience of delivering lifelong learning and employability programmes and projects including delivery of accredited opportunities. It is desirable that they have supervised either volunteers and or staff. It is essential that the jobholder has a qualification in Community Education or equivalent. It is desirable that they hold verifier and assessor qualifications acceptable to SQA and other accreditation bodies. It is desirable that the post holder is registered with CLD Standards Council. It is essential that the post holder has experience of planning and delivering strategic lifelong learning and employability interventions, programmes and projects. It is desirable that they have experience of supporting internal or external working groups to lead on key lifelong learning and employability themes.
