The predicted salary is between 30000 - 35892 £ per year.
Working across the houses within Midlothian Residential services. Cleaning of designated areas within the buildings including the young person’s bedrooms to ensure that they are kept in a hygienic condition by vacuuming, cleaning floors, cleaning baths/showers/toilets and washing walls. Undertake kitchen and dining room duties e.g. laying and clearing tables, basic preparation of food, and washing up, deep cleans etc. Operating powered equipment including laundry equipment. Report any faults or malfunctions in equipment to Seniors. Support young people to ensure laundry duties are completed e.g. washing, ironing and folding clothes. Ensuring utility room is clean and tidy at all times. Basic reading is a requirement of the job to enable the Jobholder to read the instructions regarding the handling of chemicals and use of laundry equipment. Knowledge is normally acquired through demonstration and familiarisation on the job. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also an essential requirement for this post.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
