An exciting time for our Sport & Leisure service which meets the needs of Midlothian residents to enable them to be physically active, providing a positive & safe environment & varied programme of opportunities to be active. It also meets the needs of Sport & Leisure staff, providing them with a positive working environment, feeling valued, supported and with opportunities to develop.
In partnership with sportscotland, Midlothian Council are looking to recruit a Club Development Officer to work with the Development Team to plan, develop and deliver inclusive, innovative & exciting opportunities in physical activity and sport. The successful candidate will develop strong, sustainable, safe and inclusive sports clubs that support local communities and provide a pathway for people to participate, progress and go on to achieve in sport.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, well-organised and motivated officer with the ability to create and develop effective relationships, communicating with and directly influencing a broad spectrum of internal and external partners. This is a new role and a great opportunity to make an impact.
KNOWLEDGE- The job holder must be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
- Must have significant experience of working at a similar level in a Community and/or Sport & Activity related area.
- Must have proven project management experience.
- Must be able to clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aims and objectives of club development.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of working with and empowering volunteers in clubs.

Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,409.35 per annum.
