The Midlothian Young Carers Project supports young carers in Midlothian and has existed in its current format since June 2020. The Project and staff deliver support to young people based upon the key components of the Carers Act Scotland (2016). The candidate would be expected to deliver on the project outcomes and be able to work with young people, aged 5-25 years across Midlothian. This post is an exciting addition to the services supporting young carers in Midlothian and will suit someone who is able to listen to the views of young carers and deliver a project that meets their needs.

Knowledge

The jobholder should be educated to SCQF Level 6 or have sound knowledge/experience of lifelong learning and/or employability programmes and projects including delivery of one-to-one caseloads.

Requirements

  • This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
  • Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
