This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team at Highbank. You will work alongside the Manager to provide an Intermediate Care Service to Older Adults, working with others to promote the Ethos and Aims & Objectives of both the Service and the Council overall. You will provide direct supervisory support to the staff team and ensure the overall running of the Service.
You must be educated to a minimum of an SVQ level 4 or an equivalent relevant qualification and be able to demonstrate highly developed communication/interpersonal skills. Registration with the SSSC as an Assistant Unit Manager with previous experience working in a care setting for older people or related setting is essential, as is staff supervision/budgetary management experience and an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation affecting the provision of social services to older people.

Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £43,468.03 per annum.

Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with protected adults. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
