An exciting opportunity has arisen to build your software/applications knowledge and experience, working with staff in schools and other services across the whole council.

\\n

Based in Fairfield House as part of the Business Applications Team within Corporate Resources, you will provide support for staff utilising several Council systems and applications including SEEMiS, Groupcall, Parents Portal and the potential future delivery of a client transport system.

\\n

You will provide day to day support to users and advise on associated business processes. You will support the implementation, operation and ongoing development of these systems/applications (please note that this does not include the support of digital hardware and infrastructure) and support any relevant projects.

\\n

You will deliver training to system users as required and ensure that any required periodic processing and production of reports is completed accurately and according to timetables.

KNOWLEDGE

\\n

EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

\\n

Ā Essential:

\\n

Jobholders must be educated to SVQ level 3/ in a relevant subject such as HNC Information Technology, Information Management, Business Information Systems, or evidence of equivalent competency along with evidence of numeracy and literacy at Higher Grade.

\\n

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

\\n

Essential:

\\n

Evidence of advanced MS Excel skills.

\\n

Evidence developed interpersonal skills to agree and implement changes in procedures.

\\n

An understanding of the relevant legislation associated with the retention of information.

\\n

Desirable:

\\n

Evidence of the ability to produce and manipulate data for a variety of uses using various query and reporting tools.

\\n

Previous Systems Administration experience including the provision of helpdesk service to colleagues and other stakeholders

\\n

Experience of the delivery of staff training.

\\n

Experience in the design and production of training/procedural/guidance documentation.

\\n

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30,243.53 per annum. 

Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.

Please note that Disclosure Scotland has changed the way certificates are issued. You will be notified by email from Disclosure Scotland that your certificate is available to view. Once you have viewed your certificate you will be allowed to share this with your employer and it is only available for 14 days from the first day you have viewed the certificate.
