Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mental Health Care Support Worker to join their Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service Team in Stafford, South West Staffordshire.
The team provides an urgent response and comprehensive mental health assessment to individuals in acute mental health crisis and offers home treatment to those requiring short-term intensive intervention.
Main Duties
- Working in an adult community mental health pathway, covering 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with flexibility to work across pathways based on skill and service need.
- Delivering high-quality clinical services to patients and their families, including accompanying staff in crisis assessments and providing effective home treatment.
- Collaborating with other Trust services to provide seamless care for service users and working in partnership with external agencies to support access to services.

Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of senior health and social care staff, the successful candidate will assist in delivering interventions to service users with mental health needs, focusing on recovery goals, meaningful occupation, physical health, social inclusion, and mental health promotion.
The role involves working shift patterns, including night shifts, and participating in reviews of service user care and effectiveness of interventions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, with demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills.
Experience
- Experience working with individuals with mental health needs, preferably in a community team setting.
- Experience co-facilitating group-based interventions and working with people with mental health needs.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of mental health issues, access to services, and promotion.
- Skills in literacy, verbal communication, and electronic information technology.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
- Skills in physical health assessment, including measurement and recording of vital signs.
