Midlands Care Direct is an ambitious and expanding care provider delivering high-quality, person-centred support across Leicester and Leicestershire. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead both our Home Care and Supported Living services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader with a proven track record of managing CQC-regulated services, driving quality, supporting staff, and delivering outstanding outcomes for the people we support.
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational leadership, quality, compliance, and commercial performance of our Home Care and Supported Living services. Working closely with the Directors, you will play a key role in growing the business while ensuring services remain safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led in accordance with CQC Fundamental Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong operational leadership across Home Care and Supported Living services.
- Ensure compliance with all CQC regulations, legislation, and local authority contractual requirements.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary team, including Team Leaders, Care Coordinators, Seniors, and Support Workers.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, competency assessments, and staff development.
- Ensure person-centred care planning, risk assessments, and regular care reviews.
- Monitor and improve quality through audits, spot checks, incident analysis, and service improvement plans.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, complaints, investigations, and regulatory notifications.
- Maintain excellent relationships with commissioners, social workers, NHS professionals, families, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor budgets, staffing levels, occupancy, and service performance.
- Participate in the on-call management rota.
- Drive continuous improvement and support future business growth.
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a CQC Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or Service Manager within homecare, supported living, or community care.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to complete if not already achieved.
- Understanding of CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and person-centred care.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing successful care teams.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, governance, medication management, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- Experience managing both home care and supported living services.
- Experience working with local authority and NHS commissioned services.
- Experience implementing electronic care planning and rostering systems.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning and service growth.
