Midland Steel is an innovative and progressive steel reinforcement manufacturer, supplier, and specialist contractor, with established operations in Ireland and the UK and a growing presence across Europe, the USA, and other international markets. We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team.
The Production Manager will lead and oversee the entire smart manufacturing cycle of prefabricated rebar products, from final design handover, manufacturing, to fabrication and dispatch. This role requires the effective integration of Industry 4.0 technologies to optimise production efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal stakeholders, including sales, production planning, manufacturing, and installation teams, to ensure seamless coordination and the real-time monitoring of processes.
- Ensure that orders are produced efficiently meeting delivery schedules, and staying within budget.
- Manage stock and inventory, liaising with buyers to ensure supply meets demand in line with forecasts.
- Ensure manufacturing assets are performing optimally engaging with maintenance teams to ensure preventative maintenance is sufficient and in line with manufacturer's warranty conditions and recommendations.
- Coordinate remedial maintenance actions ensuring responsiveness and minimal downtime.
- Liaise with design team to understand design elements and advise production capability and capacity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and smart technologies to minimize waste, improve cycle times, and increase throughput.
- Develop and lead master production schedule across multiple manufacturing sites ensuring maximum efficiency is achieved across the group.
- Supervise day to day manufacturing operations and coordinate various teams to ensure optimal efficiency of resources and product.
- Develop and implement KPIs and tools for continuous monitoring of performance and identifying bottlenecks.
- Ensure H&S and Environmental practices are aligned to ISO standards.
- Facilitate internal auditors and external auditors to maintain standards.
- Lead energy-saving and sustainability initiatives in line with corporate ESG goals, ensuring optimal resource use and waste reduction.
Minimum Experience: 5 years project management experience in built environment industries.
