Our longstanding client is an award winning organisation which offers support to individuals with drug and alcohol problems in a range of settings including detoxification and residential rehabilitation, recovery housing, social enterprises and community based therapeutic services. We are looking to recruit a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist to join our talented team of staff. The successful applicant will work alongside our partner agency WeAreWithYou in our Stoke Recovery Service to support people with alcohol and drug addiction move into sustainable recovery.
How would you like to put your Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or equivalent) to good use? By joining our team, you will not have ‘a job’ you will have a career built on the knowledge that you are making a positive difference to people with substance misuse (alcohol and drug) addiction by developing and supporting them to achieve their outcomes, dreams and aspirations. Experience of working in the substance misuse field is an advantage but not essential.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A therapeutic background working to evidence based theoretical practice on a 1-1 and group therapy session basis with service users
- Anti-discriminatory practice skills operating in a non-judgemental manner
- Time management skills maximising the time available for the client caseload
- Excellent communication skills to develop productive relationships
About you:
- Do you have a minimum of Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or equivalent?
- Are you able to develop and maintain good relationships with staff and service users and clearly communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts?
- Do you operate in a non-judgemental manner and have knowledge of relevant legislation in all activities?
- Can you make decisions whilst understanding when to refer to specialist support within the organisation and communicate with team members?
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft 2010 packages
